Heather is having brain surgery next month...she won't be able to pick up her sweet son for 3 months so it was really important to her to have some pictures of her holding him. I am SO glad we got this shot!

South Gwinnett Prayer Walk

A little background...

This year is my third year of involvement with Young Life at South Gwinnett High School. Young Life is an amazing ministry...the Lord has used it to change my life and mind as I've watched Him change the lives and hearts of the students. For that reason, I was incredibly excited, honored and blessed to have the opportunity to participate in a prayer walk on the school grounds, the football field, the halls, lockers, classroom doors...amazing! And, I was able to shoot the event! So fun! (You may remember when I shot the Grayson Prayer Walk.)

We started out on the football field with a time of worship...

and finished back at the football field for coporate prayer over the school, students, teachers and community of South Gwinnett High School.

Grayson Prayer Walk

Last night, several churches and ministries gathered at Grayson High School with the sole (or soul) purpose of praying over the school, the students and the faculty.

One of the organizers had these rubber bracelets made:

Yep...He sure does!

The evening started outside near the flagpole with a time of group prayer and worship.

Then they moved inside and prayed everywhere...

They ended with another time of group prayer in the gym.

And, can we just revisit this kid...

Maybe it's because I am a Young Life leader but it encourages my heart to see students praying for their schools!!!

Midtown Community Church

Midtown Community Church (my other church) hosts a dinner every Sunday evening before the service. I went down and shot the first dinner of the year this past week...so fun!

Connections Fair

Yesterday, my church (Grace Fellowship Church) held the first of two weeks we call the Connections Fair. It's designed for church members and attenders to get "connected" with various ministries and Bible studies. Of course, I had my camera out for the event.

I had the privilege of directing an incredible wedding for a really great wedding yesterday. And, since I know the family and the photographer (who happen to be one and the same), I got to hang out with my camera for that part of the day, too!

Britt was SUCH a stunning bride and SO easy to work with, as a photographer and a director.

It was such a fun day!

Peru Medical Outreach 2008 - Places

I just got back from ten days in Peru as part of a medical missions team. We ran a clinic in Andahuaylas, Peru. Of course, I had my camera at the ready and came home with 422 pictures. I'm going to post them in a series of four.

This is the fourth and last installment. We saw some really, amazingly beautiful places on this trip...A creative God is so evident when I look at all of this...

This is the third in the series (and probably the biggest). I love faces and real emotion. And, I particularly love the faces in South America.

These are my "artsy" pics. There aren't many because, frankly, I wasn't so much going for the artsy-professional look as much as documenting the trip. These just turned out cool. A couple are from the cathedral in Lima. One is Pam's hands on the computer keyboard 'cause I got bored in Lima and the last is the sweetest old lady holding Pam's hand. She wouldn't let go until we walked her to the gate.

Such a great trip!

*The shoot at the location(s) of your choice
*Editing of the pictures
*A CD of the pictures, which I can mail to you. With the cd you can order prints yourself, or I can order them for you through a really great lab in Atlanta. I'll give you a price list for those (and a sample print) with the cd.

I had the incredible privilege of following Callie around at an engagement shoot yesterday and shooting some myself...so fun! Audrey and Zach are such a great couple! We had a lot of fun with them at their house in Lawrenceville, a friend's property in Grayson and Stone Mountain.

My family is living (at least for now) on the Caribbean island, St. Kitts. It's far away...but it sure is a great place to visit! :) I got to see their new home in February 2008.

My parents have a boat and they love to go to this cove to swim and snorkel. The water is perfectly clear, you can see all the way to the bottom...it's about 25 feet deep:

So, this is it; this is my entry into the world of professional creativity.

A little about me: I love art. I've always loved drawing, coloring, painting, writing, lettering...but only the last few years have I begun to do it seriously. And, only in the last few years have I come to realize what a vital part of who I am it is. I sleep better at night if I've done something creative during the day.

I shoot with an Olympus E-volt, E-500. She's my baby. I love her.

The name: Shiloh Photography.

I love words, their meanings and spellings and everything about words. 'Shiloh' has a double meaning for me. Shiloh, as a name, means 'His gift,' and that to it's very core is what photography is for me: a gift from God...not just the ability to take photos, but also the joy and beauty I find in looking at other's photos (particularly these: Achor and Eden). Shiloh, also, is a place mentioned in 1 Samuel 1. Shiloh is where the Lord took Hannah and promised her what her heart longed for. He didn't fulfill her promise there, that came later.

I am Hannah, Peru is my Shiloh and Ecuador is the promise that the Lord is fulfilling for me.
